Of the several towns within the Bay, there is perhaps none more romantic than Kotor. A colorful town - part of the UNESCO protected World Heritage Site - that dates back to around 5th Century BC.
Its vibrant medieval Old town buildings, in hues of sun yellow, stone white, and sky blue, border a city harbor on one side; on the other, the fortress of San Giovanni looks out over the sea.
Make sure not to miss the small fishing villages which feature charming old buildings coupled with views of the stunning towns of Muo, Prcanj and Stoliv.
Perast and the islands - Lady of Rocks and Saint George - islands with a story within themselves, are the perfect centerpiece for the bay and the photographic symbol of Montenegro, with the dramatic Black Mountains in the background.
